In-Home Speech and Language Therapy Services for Every Child
Language Support
Support for late talkers and children with language disorders focuses on building strong, functional communication skills. Therapy targets understanding and using language—such as vocabulary, following directions, forming sentences, and expressing ideas—through play-based, engaging activities tailored to your child’s level. Sessions are designed to feel natural and meaningful, while also equipping caregivers with simple strategies to support language growth during everyday routines at home.
Articulation & Speech
Articulation therapy focuses on helping children produce speech sounds clearly and confidently so they can be easily understood. Sessions target correct sound placement, coordination, and practice through engaging, play-based activities tailored to each child’s needs. Therapy is designed to build accuracy and carryover into everyday speech, while also providing caregivers with simple strategies to support practice and progress at home.
Social Communication
Social communication therapy supports children in developing the skills needed to interact and connect with others. This includes understanding social cues, taking turns in conversation, staying on topic, and building friendships. Sessions use natural, play-based activities to practice real-life interactions, while also providing caregivers with practical strategies to support social skill development in everyday situations.
The Heart Behind SunHaven Speech
Stephanie Galang, M.A., CCC-SLP
Hi, I’m Stephanie, a Speech-Language Pathologist and the founder of SunHaven Speech Therapy. My mission is to provide warm, engaging, and personalized speech-language therapy right in your child’s natural home environment—their safe haven.
I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from California State University, Long Beach. With over 10 years of experience, I’ve worked with toddlers, school-age children, and young adults across a variety of settings, including private practice, schools, and in-home therapy. I’ve had the joy of working with individuals with diverse communication needs, including those with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, and cerebral palsy.
I specialize in language delays and disorders, social communication, as well as articulation and speech sound disorders. I like to emphasize parent collaboration and have extensive experience leading parent trainings, empowering families with practical strategies they can confidently use in everyday routines.
What sets my approach apart is my focus on each child’s unique interests and strengths. I strive to create sessions that are not only effective, but enjoyable—so your child feels motivated, supported, and excited to participate.
Above all, my goal is to help your child build confidence in their ability to communicate and express themselves.

Everything You Need to Know
I'm here to support your family's journey every step of the way. Explore answers to common questions.
How do I know if my child may need speech therapy?
If you have concerns about your child’s speech or language development, it’s a good idea to seek an evaluation. Signs may include difficulty being understood, limited vocabulary, trouble putting words together, or frustration when communicating. An assessment can help determine if therapy is needed and what support would be most beneficial for your child.
Do you take insurance?
I am a private pay (out-of-network) provider, which allows me to focus fully on your child’s individual needs without the limitations or restrictions often required by insurance companies. Payment is made directly at the time of service, and I can provide detailed superbills for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Does my child need a speech and language assessment?
In most cases, yes. A comprehensive assessment helps identify your child’s unique strengths and areas of need, determine whether a speech or language delay or disorder is present, and guide the development of appropriate therapy goals and a personalized treatment plan.
However, if your child has already received a speech and language assessment within the past six months, that evaluation may be used instead, as long as it provides enough current and relevant information to support treatment planning.
What age groups do you work with?
I work with children from early intervention (starting around 16–18 months) through preschool, school-age, and high school. In general, I provide services for children ages 16 months to 17 years.
Where are you located?
I provide in-home speech therapy services, which means I come to you. Sessions are offered within Long Beach, Signal Hill, and nearby cities, bringing therapy directly into your child’s natural home environment for comfort, convenience, and consistency.
